Welcome to the
Appelo Archive Center
(Museum, Archives, Meeting Rooms & Library)
This is the perfect location for you to find information and do research on photos, cemetery records, Finnish, Swedish and Columbia River History and also find newspapers and books on the history of the Pacific Northwest, including logging, fishing, farming, events, and music.
We invite you to browse our site and also come and visit us in person.
We have a number of wonderful exhibits to view in our small museum, and will be happy to help you with your questions and research.

GOOD NEWS!!
The center has received a grant from the Finlandia Foundation.
The $1000 grantwill cover the cost of a kit from Finland for a National Costume.
It is worn internationally by Finnish ex-patriots and was developed
by our own community women.
We will post pictures when it is complete.
We are still looking for a few more dress forms for display.
Also looking for a doll to put the doll costume on.
Please contact us if you have one we could use.
The costumes pictured belonged to Jayme Johnson Sieberts. She is the
granddaughter of Rosie Elaine Johnson and the daughter of Joan Johnson
and the late Gene Johnson.

Have you checked out the new entrance area to the center?
It's on the ground floor of the Appelo Plaza right next door to the Creative Flaire Flower Shop and Deli.

New items added weekly!!
There are hundreds of pictures and articles at the center and
students, researchers and visitors interested in the area's history
are most welcome to access it all.
Wi-Fi is available and there are plenty of tables for laying out maps and newspapers.. With the renovation of the Center's main room, lectures are being planned and groups wishing to use the new "Heritage Room" on the main floor for meetings are welcome to contact the Center.
Don't forget the Center is handicap accessible!
