After the success of her previous collection of oral histories from Naselle, Washington, Glimpses Of The Past, Ruth Busse Allingham back to work on the neighboring community of Grays River. Many immigrants came to this rural area over 100 years ago seeking independence and opportunity. What they found was hard work, joy, and occasional sorrow. Looking back, most of Grays River's older residents express a deep attachment to the land. Newcomers seem to share the same feeling. Together these stories represent a price list treasury of shared experiences.
